A clean vector file keeps corners and curves sharp, since nothing passes through pixels. Ask for outlined type.

Auto-digitized files are a starting point. Always run a test sew-out on scrap fabric with matching stabilizer before production.
Your image stays in your browser. When you export a Pro pack, only the traced shapes, thread colors, and settings are sent, processed in memory, and not saved. Only digitize artwork you have the right to reproduce.
Paths, shapes, strokes, groups, and transforms are read directly. The file is parsed as text and never runs.
Each filled shape becomes a stitch region. The trace line confirms direct vector paths, with no raster trace.
Width picks the stitch: thin lines run, narrow shapes get satin, and wide shapes get tatami with a satin border.
Export DST, PES, and three more formats, then run a test sew-out before production.
Width is read at the finished size, so the same SVG can change stitch type between a cap and a jacket back. A 0.6 mm line at 90 mm grows past 1.0 mm at 200 mm and becomes satin. The Stitch mode control under Advanced overrides this for the whole design.
| Shape width | Stitch | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Under 1.0 mm | Running stitch | One line through the middle of the stroke |
| 1.0 to 7.0 mm | Satin column | Thread crosses the shape, with the sheen running across it |
| Over 7.0 mm | Tatami fill with satin border | Long stitches would snag, so rows of short stitches fill it |
SVG is a document format that can carry scripts and links, so this page reads it as plain text with a small tag scanner. Nothing is parsed by the browser or added to the page. Hostile files load as harmless shapes, and a note lists what was removed.

Open the main studioLoad the SVG here, or open the PES tool to start on a 4×4 hoop with Brother thread numbers. The stitch engine is the same.
Use the PES pageWhere one shape sits over another, the fill below is knocked out, so stacks do not turn stiff.

See the format chartA PNG has to be traced from pixels first. An SVG already holds exact shapes, so its paths become stitch regions directly. The trace line under the thread stops confirms which route your file took.
Paths, rectangles, circles, ellipses, lines, polygons, polylines, groups, transforms, fill rules, strokes, opacity, internal use references, simple style rules, and gradient colors, which become one averaged thread.
Scripts, event handlers, external images, external references, foreignObject, and embedded objects are all dropped, and the page tells you what went. The uploaded SVG is never inserted into the live page, so none of it can run.
No. A text element depends on fonts this page cannot load, so it is skipped and you are told. Convert text to outlines in your design app before exporting the SVG.
Stroke width is measured at the final stitched size. Under 1.0 mm sews as a running stitch, 1.0 to 7.0 mm as a satin column, and anything wider as tatami fill with a satin border.
A near-white shape covering the whole viewBox counts as background and is dropped. A colored full-bleed shape counts as artwork and is stitched. Turn on the background option under Advanced to stitch a white backdrop too.
Yes. The all-formats pack includes a PES built from your vector regions, along with DST, JEF, EXP, and VP3. Set the thread brand to Brother Embroidery first if you sew with Brother thread.
SVG files share the 15 MB limit with images. Complex maps or traced photos can hold thousands of tiny shapes, which sew poorly. Simplify artwork like that first, because embroidery cannot hold fine detail.
